“florida/woman” by Jessica Carter, July 29 – August 1

Admire a thought-provoking photography exhibition examining identity, place, and belonging through the work of artist Jessica Carter. Presented by the Gainesville Fine Arts Association, “florida/woman” features a series of photographic self-portraits reflecting Carter’s experience as a transgender woman living in Florida and the complex relationship between identity and the natural landscape. Visitors can also attend the opening reception during Artwalk on July 31, alongside the “Drink n Draw: A Community Exhibition” in the front gallery.
