Halloween Pumpkin Composting Drop-Off in Alachua County
Alachua County Rural Collection Centers
Give Halloween pumpkins a second life through a community composting program organized by O-Town Compost in partnership with Alachua County. Residents can drop off unwanted pumpkins at five Rural Collection Centers, helping reduce landfill waste while turning seasonal decorations into nutrient-rich compost. Only unpainted, undecorated pumpkins are accepted. Remove candles, stickers and synthetic materials before drop-off. Collection sites include Alachua/High Springs, Archer, Fairbanks, North Central and Phifer. All five centers accept pumpkins Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Alachua/High Springs location also operates Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
