August Wilson’s “Fences”, Opening Weekend

Take in August Wilson’s award-winning play “Fences,” following Troy Maxson, a former professional baseball player working as a garbage collector in 1957 Pittsburgh. Years of disappointment and frustration strain Troy’s relationships with his wife, Rose, and son, Cory. When Cory pursues his own opportunity to play football, father and son clash over ambition, family and the possibilities of the next generation. Sponsored in part by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County.
