Join the Flock at Palm Point Park! Palm Point is a wooded peninsula along the shore of Newnan’s Lake and a great spot to look for fall migrants. 📍 Meeting Point: Trailhead at parking lot of Palm Point Park at 7401 Lake Shore Dr. 🕘 Start Time: 9:00 AM ⏱ Duration: 2 hours 🌿 Trail Conditions: one mile or less of mostly shade, walking along mulched trail at Palm Point and along grass/boardwalk at Powers Park. Restrooms available at Powers Park. 💲 Parking: Park in the small lot or if full, you can park off the shoulder of Lakeshore Drive. Large parking lot at Powers Park. No fee. What to Expect We'll explore the looped trail and Lake Shore Dr for migrant warblers, flycatchers, and other songbirds in the live oaks, sweetgums, sugarberry, and cypress trees. We’ll also scan the lake for migrating Black Terns, swallows, and any possible lingering storm birds.
