DESCRIPTION:Join the Gainesville community for a walk to honor\, support and advocate for people living with sickle cell disease. This year’s theme\, A Journey\, represents both the daily resilience of sickle cell warriors and the path toward better care and a cure. Bring your walking shoes and participate with family and friends while raising awareness about sickle cell disease in Alachua County and showing support for those affected. Beyond the walk\, attendees can help save lives by participating in a community blood drive or joining the national bone marrow registry. Learn about available resources\, treatments and care while enjoying local food trucks\, live music and family-friendly activities. Admission is complimentary.
